Three places called “Aljada Park”
People searching for “Aljada Park” usually want one of three places, and only two of them are open.
| Place | What it is | Status on 30 Sep 2026 | Entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Madar | The 600,000 sq ft family district at the centre of Aljada, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects | Open since 27 Feb 2020 | Free |

| Aljada Sports Park | A 400,000 sq ft ground for football, courts and tracks | Under construction, handover targeted end-2026 | Not announced |
The Ruler of Sharjah opened Madar on 27 February 2020 (Arada). The map listing called Aljada Park holds 4.6 stars from 2,078 reviews (Wanderlog). Visit Sharjah says Madar opened in 2023, which conflicts with Arada’s own 2020 announcement.

Arada publishes no opening hours for Madar or the Aljada Discovery Centre (Arada Madar, Arada contacts, both checked 30 September 2026). The venues with their own websites do. Each row says who published the hours and when.

What each listing says about Madar:
- Property Finder, 16 Feb 2025: daily 8am–midnight.
- Bayut’s Madar guide, undated and now offline: 10am–10pm on weekdays, 10am–midnight at weekends.
- TripAdvisor: 10am–midnight.
- The Google Maps listing, via Wanderlog: open 24 hours.
For the Discovery Centre, a third listing gives Sun–Thu 9am–7pm and Fri–Sat 10am–8pm. Until Arada publishes hours, plan around the venue you want, and for a same-day answer call Arada on 800-ARADA (27232).
What’s inside Madar now
These are the venues on Arada’s own pages on 30 September 2026 (What’s On, Madar):
- Madar Play Park, with family entertainment at weekends. Visit Sharjah describes climbing towers, swings, slides, trampolines, a climbing wall and nets.
- Aljada Skate Park, covered below.
- BOUNCE, an 18,000 sq ft trampoline park with a miniBOUNCE zone for under-6s (Arada).
- Wellfit Madar, a fitness club with separate men-only and ladies-only gyms, five studios and about 100 classes a week. There is no pool, and the gym is for ages 16+.
- Shajar, a tree nursery, with The Hut café.
- Link by Mara, an outdoor café that runs in the cooler months.
- Zad, the food-truck park. Named trucks are in our Aljada food trucks guide.
- Hayhay Bakery and Costa Coffee. The same page lists Racks (board games) and Virtuality (VR) on East Boulevard.
Listed by older guides, not confirmed for 2026: the free drive-in cinema (8pm nightly for up to 150 cars when it launched in 2020, per Arada), YourSpace, the AUS Pavilion, the water-play area and the amphitheatre. No current Arada page mentions them, so ask before you plan a trip around one.
What is free and what is paid
Free: entry to Madar (Visit Sharjah), Madar Play Park and the skate park.
Paid:
- BOUNCE: AED 90 for one hour and AED 80 for one hour of miniBOUNCE; multi-visit passes from AED 765. These are brand-wide list prices (bounce.ae, checked 30 September 2026). Grip socks cost AED 5 and are required, under-12s must be supervised, and adults who do not jump enter free (Kidzapp).
- Wellfit Madar: memberships only, and Wellfit shows no prices.
- Zad: walking in is free; you pay each truck.
- Parking: Parkin tariffs since 15 July 2026 (see below).
No entry fee has been published for the Discovery Centre, in either direction.
The Aljada Discovery Centre
This is Arada’s two-floor visitor and sales pavilion in Madar, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. You can see the Aljada masterplan and “experience rooms” with 360° views of the community. 2GIS places it in Muwaileh Commercial (25.317906, 55.474019), phone +971 4 702 0000 (2GIS).
It is not the Sharjah Discovery Centre. That is a Sharjah Museums children’s science centre on Airport Road, and its official page says it is “closed until further notice” (Sharjah Museums, checked 30 September 2026).
Aljada Skate Park
About 90,000 sq ft, with beginner, intermediate and pro street and park sections. The final phase, designed by Olympic gold medallist Keegan Palmer, opened in November 2022 (Sharjah24), and the park hosted the World Skate Championships 2022 (Arada). FamilyAction’s undated listing says entry is free, mentions an on-site skate shop, and advises helmets and knee pads for beginners without requiring them. We found no official lesson programme.
Aljada Sports Park: not open yet
Arada awarded an AED145m contract to Civic Builders on 6 November 2025 and targets handover by the end of 2026 (Arada). The 400,000 sq ft plan includes:
- a full-size football pitch and 5-a-side pitches
- basketball, padel, volleyball, squash and badminton courts
- cycling and jogging tracks
- children’s adventure play and a water-play area
- two food and drink outlets, including The Reformatory Lab
- changing rooms and two floors of underground parking
Arada’s newsroom carried no progress update between July and September 2026 (Arada news). Handover and a public opening are different milestones, and no public opening date has been announced.
Madar Mall: targeted December 2028
Madar Mall is planned as the final phase of Madar. Arada awarded the AED2.18bn contract to UNEC on 18 September 2025, with completion targeted for December 2028. The plan lists 400+ shops, 80 dining outlets, an 11-screen cinema, an ice rink and an observation tower (Arada). The pictures online are renders. Arada has published no progress update since, and has not said whether the works affect today’s Madar venues.
Parking at Madar
Parkin has run paid, ticketless parking in Aljada since 15 July 2026: AED 4.20 an hour in off-street lots (8am–midnight) and AED 6.30 an hour on East Boulevard (24 hours) (Arada). Arada has not said whether Madar’s own visitor lots are paid. BOUNCE says parking in front of its venue is free. Guides promising free parking at Madar were written before Parkin arrived. Read the signs, and see our Aljada parking guide for fees, zones and how to pay.
Getting there
Aljada sits where Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) meets Al Dhaid Road (E88), in Muwaileh Commercial. Published drive times range from about 5–13 minutes to Sharjah Airport and 14–30 minutes to Dubai Airport, depending on traffic (Bayut, The National). There is no metro and no bus stop inside Aljada; the nearest is the Muwaileh bus stop (Property Finder), so without a car, take a taxi or a ride-hailing app. Once there, Yalla e-bikes and e-scooters are available to riders aged 18 and over (Arada).
Tips for a visit
- Go in the evening. Reviewers single out the park at night, when it is lit, and suggest about an hour and a half (Wanderlog).
- Grip socks are compulsory at BOUNCE. They cost AED 5 a pair at the venue (Kidzapp).
- Eat nearby: Zad is inside Madar, and our Aljada restaurants guide covers East Boulevard. For the wider area, see the Aljada community guide.
