What Areej is
Areej is a group of seven apartment buildings, AREEJ 1 to AREEJ 7, built by Arada in Aljada, the master community in Muwaileh, Sharjah. The buildings are four and six storeys tall. Arada’s page describes Areej as homes for singles and young couples, and lists all seven buildings as sold out.
Areej was one of Aljada’s first completed neighbourhoods. Arada began handing over the first four buildings, 255 homes, on 30 March 2021, and said three more would follow. You may see “234 units” quoted for Areej online; that cannot be right, since the first four buildings alone hold 255.
Where it sits and what is nearby
Areej sits next to Madar, the Zaha Hadid-designed family district that the Ruler of Sharjah opened in February 2020. Madar is free to enter and holds the play park, the skate park and several cafés, though Arada publishes no official opening hours.
Two buildings double as everyday landmarks. Areej 6 has Manbat, a store for fresh Emirati produce with an on-site hydroponic farm, open daily from 8am to midnight. Areej 5 has Arada Care on the ground floor (Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm) and Arada Residential Leasing (Monday to Saturday 9am to 7pm). If you rent from Arada or need to raise a maintenance issue with the developer, this is where you go.
Since 15 July 2026, Parkin runs ticketless paid parking across Aljada: AED 6.30 an hour on-street on East Boulevard, 24 hours a day, and AED 4.20 an hour in off-street lots from 8am to midnight. Residents keep the bays listed in their SPA or title deed and manage subscriptions through Parkin.
Homes and layouts
Arada lists three home types: studios, 1 BR and 2 BR apartments. There are no 3 BR homes in Areej. Arada has not published a total unit count or floor areas, and we have not found them in a source we trust, so ask for the title deed area when comparing units.
Prices and rents
Arada publishes no Areej prices, and the launch figures that circulate online could not be verified. For market context, Bayut’s Aljada-wide sale index for August 2026 gives about AED 1,336 per sq ft for studios, AED 1,145 for 1 BR and AED 1,147 for 2 BR. Its rent index puts studios at AED 89, 1 BR at AED 58 and 2 BR at AED 61 per sq ft a year. These are community averages based on asking prices, not Areej figures, so treat them as a starting point for a conversation with an agent.
Who it suits
Areej suits singles and couples who want a small, finished apartment in a low-rise building right next to Madar, a produce shop and the developer’s own service desk. Anyone needing three bedrooms should look at Nasaq or Misk. For a similar size of home nearby, compare Rehan and the studio-led East Village blocks.
